After what has been a restful mid season break, the SSFL is back and ready to play some football!
2018 kicks off with the second fixture between Panyadee International School and Oonrak International School. The first fixture between these two teams was very close, but in the end Oonrak were the ones that walked away with the most points. Panyadee will be looking to make amends for this on Friday as they host Oonrak on home turf.
Whole School League
PYD are currently tied in the overall points table with ISS. Gaining just a single point from 4 games will see them secure second spot, however they have a superb opportunity to either close the gap on or overtake Oonrak into 1st place by closing the 7 point lead that OIS hold. OIS on the other hand will be looking to further increase this gap and stamp their authority on the whole school league by winning as many matches as possible.
OIS lead this league with a 6 point gap over second place PYD. A win for PYD would see them close the gap on OIS, however a win for OIS would see them cement themselves as firm favorites with a 9 point lead... This would surely leave them as clear favorites and catching them would be impossible.... right??
The PYD girls have had a great start to the season with 2 wins from 2 games. They currently tie ISS for first place, a win or a draw would see them firmly into first place. OIS are only three points behind the tied league leaders, a win would make it a three way tie (Positions based on GD) and a loss would help them to close the gap on second.
The OIS boys are currently in second place above PYD in third. A win or draw for OIS would see them move safely into 1st place above ISS, however a win for PYD would make this league a three way tie similarly to the U14 girls.
At this point the SCL girls are clear into 1st position in this league. PYD are tired in second with ISS and OIS are 4th. A win for PYD would prove quite positive, propelling them into second place, only one point behind SCL. A Draw for PYD would also put them into second, however it would not do much to close the gap on SCL. OIS have 1 point here, despite this a 3 point win would see them jump two places into second!, with this I'm mind I'm sure that the girls will be highly motivated to get the W.
Please come along to Panyadee International School at 15:00 on the Friday 19th January to show your support for all athletes involved!
